About the Author

Pastor S. Andrew Mattison is a native of Williamston, South Carolina, where he attended public schools. He later studied at Morris College in Sumter, SC.


Pastor Mattison has been in Christian Ministry for fifty-eight (58) years. During that time, he has pastored seven (7) churches: Shiloh Baptist Church, Anderson; New Galilee Baptist Church, Walhalla; New Hope Baptist Church, Clemson; Shady Grove Baptist Church, Pelzer; Pisgah Baptist Church, Easley; Duncan Creek Baptist Church, Laurens; and presently, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Williamston, all in the state of South Carolina. Pastor Mattison has been sought after for revivals, and he teaches in Congresses of Christian Education, and lectures across the United States.


Widely known as an humble man, Pastor Mattison is married to Geraldine Porter Mattison, and they have four beautiful and loving children: Pamela Mattison; Andrea Gaffney (Clarence); Spurgeon Andrew Mattison, Jr., (Monique); and Victor Lemans Mattison (Teresa).

Having spent nearly six decades in the preaching and pastoring ministries, Pastor Mattison now feels a calling to use the pen to continue to proclaim Jesus Our Christ to the world.

About the Author

Rev. Dr. Virginia Franklin Davis works consistently to help the less fortunate. She was born in Marion County, South Carolina to the late Mr. Lotto and Mrs. Lizzie McDonald Franklin. Rev. Davis is the third of eight children. She was educated in the public schools of Marion County, at Allen University, Columbia, South Carolina, and the University of South Carolina, Columbia, South Carolina; South Carolina State College, Orangeburg, South Carolina; Francis Marion University of Florence, South Carolina. Rev. Davis has received ABS Masters and Doctoral Degree in Christian Education and is certified by the state of South Carolina in elementary education, special education, exceptional children, history and social studies, and South Carolina Case Manager of the Chronic Mentally Ill.


Rev. Davis is licensed and ordained from Driskell Baptist Church in Dublin, Georgia. She was married to the late Mr. James B. Davis. They are the parents of three children: Clotella D. Crawford of Mullins, South Carolina, James C. Davis of Albany, Georgia and Ogleretta D. White of the home in Marion, SC. Rev. Davis has eight grandchildren and six great grands. Her fraternal organizations are Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority, NAACP, and she is a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church of Marion as an emeritus, associate pastor. She still enjoys singing, reading, writing poetry, cooking, and flowering, praying, and ministering in person and by telephone to others.


Rev. Davis has also authored This Boat Is Too Small; The Open Door; Beside the Brook; Within the Walls of Mt. Pisgah and Still Bound.
