More Freedom Celebrations
While many African Americans celebrated our freedom from slavery on Juneteenth, our country celebrates its freedom tomorrow. Happy 4th of July!
New Release
This weekend, Angela Mote Mahaffey is releasing her children's book that is based on a true story and teaches readers the importance of humility. Mahaffey is also the illustrator and here is a warning. This book is filled with creatures!! It is available for purchase at the following link:
New Partnerships
We have THREE new partnerships we can't wait to announce within the next month. We are growing and we are grateful! We will announce events soon that celebrate these cherished collaborations.
Lastly, my contact with children in schools has been quite limited this past year due to COVID restrictions. That has saddened me. I was fortunate to present virtually to Williamsburg School District, Richland One School District, Homeland Park Elementary and a few others. However, I had the privilege of presenting and gifting copies of BJ's Big Dream, What Is That Stinky, Winky, Eeewww Smell? and My Friends Lived in the Outlet to a group of elementary reading campers in Anderson School Four. Thank you to Anderson Four, Pendleton Elks, New Holly Light Missionary Baptist Church, my former pastor Rev. Dr. Curtis Hill (pictured below), and grant writer and visionary Mrs. Eleanor Leverette (pictured below) for the opportunity to prepare reading bags for the campers. Thank you for empowering students and acknowledging that summer reading is critical!
