Early in Keshia’s educational career, her teachers noticed her ability to write well and she was featured in the local newspaper for her creative writing. Keshia enjoys running, hiking, and reading children’s books with her daughter. She is currently working on her second children’s book.

A graduate of USC Upstate with a major in Criminal Justice, Cheek recently earned a master’s degree in teaching from Converse College.

Saundra Giles Gaffney, a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, graduated from Carver High School and received her BA in English from Johnson C. Smith University. She furthered her education by receiving her Masters of Education Degree from Converse College. She is a life member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and a life member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated. Gaffney is a retired educator and now serves as a funeral assistant.
